Dare To Tie Differently – The Founder’s Story

I’ve been fascinated by oversized suits for years. As a woman, they make me feel powerful. Like I’m bending the rules of what’s expected. That mindset made me pay closer attention to the spaces around me, particularly at work.

For over three years, I’ve been on the frontlines of ties, working in the heart of Amsterdam’s Zuidas. That’s where my quiet obsession with ties began. I saw them everywhere: tight, proper, quiet. Hanging around necks like they had long accepted their role. Worn by so many, yet saying so little.

And that struck me. In a world where ties are meant to signal power, are they really living up to their potential?

What if you combine something as classic as a tie with something completely unexpected? Like a violin solo perfectly mixed with house beats. Or a classic ceiling in a modern home. That feels like a perfect clash. And I love that.

So I started looking for a tie that actually said something. One that felt like a power move. That added edge, energy and presence. But what I was looking for didn’t exist. So I decided to create it myself.

When I wore my first creations, something happened. People asked where I got them. They looked twice. Smiled. Even at an art fair, a gallery owner gave me her business card. It was a complete role reversal, because suddenly I was the one offering something, not asking.

It had unlocked something in me, and that’s when I realized I wasn’t the only one searching for that spark.

These ties are more than fabric. They’re wearable art. A statement. A piece of personality. A spark of boldness.

And that’s how Edgtiez was born.

But only for those who dare to tie differently…
